County of Los Angeles Roleplay Rulebook


Welcome to the official rules section for County of Los Angeles Roleplay (Co:LA). These policies apply to the game server, forums, Discord, community services, and any official Co:LA platform.

Co:LA is a serious, text-based roleplay community. Members are expected to protect the quality of scenes, treat others fairly, and use reasonable judgment even when a situation is not covered word-for-word below.

How the rulebook is organized

Member responsibility


Not reading a rule does not excuse a violation. When joining a scene, you are responsible for understanding the policies that affect it. Staff may pause a situation to clarify a rule, but players should not use OOC arguments to gain an in-character advantage.

Staff discretion


Rules cannot predict every possible situation. Staff may act against conduct that clearly damages roleplay, exploits a loophole, creates an unfair advantage, or targets another member in bad faith. Staff decisions should be based on evidence, context, history, and the effect on the scene—not personal relationships or faction affiliation.

Severity and enforcement


Possible actions include:
  1. Verbal guidance or an informal warning.
  2. A documented warning or rule reminder.
  3. Scene correction, item removal, refund reversal, or character rollback.
  4. Administrative jail, temporary suspension, or platform restriction.
  5. Character closure, faction removal, account ban, or permanent community removal.

Repeated lower-level violations may result in stronger action. Deliberate cheating, ban evasion, severe harassment, doxxing, account theft, or malicious exploitation may result in immediate permanent removal.

Reporting rule violations


Do not stop a scene to threaten reports or argue for an automatic win. Continue roleplaying when reasonably possible, preserve evidence, and submit a report through the proper support channel. Use

for active issues that require immediate staff attention.

Good evidence may include full screenshots, unedited video, chat logs, timestamps, player names, and a clear explanation of what happened before and after the disputed moment.

Rule changes


Management may revise these policies as systems and community needs change. Major changes should be announced, and the effective date in the thread title will be updated. Members are expected to review revisions before continuing affected roleplay.

Core principle: Create believable roleplay, give other players a fair opportunity to respond, and never use OOC knowledge or game mechanics to force an outcome.
